Ashwin Borthosow BA (Hons), LLM, TEP, IFA, CIFM

Ashwin holds a BA (Hons) in Law and Management from the University of Mauritius as well as a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of London with specialisations in Banking and Finance, International Business Law and Commercial and Corporate law.  Ashwin is a Qualified Trustee authorised by the Mauritian Financial Services Commission.

He is also recognised as a trust and estate practitioner (TEP) with the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and member of the International Fiscal Association (IFA).  Ashwin is recognised as a Certified Islamic Fund Manager (CIFM).  He is also a member of the Mauritius Institute of Directors (MIoD).

Experiences

Ashwin has extensive experience in the offshore sector covering company administration, trusts, mutual funds (conventional funds, shariah funds, open and closed ended funds), protected cell companies, pension trust/funds, insurance companies, investment advisory and brokerage companies.

As a director on CIS Management companies, Ashwin has helped oversee circa US$ 2 billion of assets under management.  Ashwin has also structured several special licensed companies ranging from CIS managers, investment advisory companies, investment dealers, treasury management companies, collective investment schemes, CIS administrators, trustee licenced companies, listed funds and companies, linked long term life insurance businesses, Freeport operators and corporate finance companies amongst others.

Ashwin is the founder and promoter of Aiglemont group of companies and also promoter of several companies dealing in commodities, telecommunication and IT consultancy services internationally and in the real estate sector in Mauritius.
